Livescribe Smartpen can record 200 hours of audio hold thousands of pages with 2 GB of memory.
The question is what can you do with this pen? I am a person that does better with pictures and diagrams than neatly typed sentences. I like to draw stars, arrows and underlines to show important things and show relationships between words and ideas. With a Livescribe note paper, I can upload handwritten notes and diagrams to my PC easy.
Pros: It is easy to organize and access handwritten notes. The Livescribe pen has calculator functions, apps (for dictionary etc.), password protection of your recorded audio and notes.
Cons: The pen is a little bulkier than a regular pen and takes some time to get used to writing with this pen. It only works with specialized dot paper made available by the manufacturer of the pen. Everything this pen does can be done with a Tablet PC and Microsoft OneNote.
Conclusion: I recommend Livescribe Pulse Pen to those people who are like me, writing and drawing at the same time in meetings and classes. It lets you store, organize and access your handwritten notes.

This smartpen is good. If you have a tablet PC, you won’t need this pen. I would rather go for Samsung’s new slate tablet PC that runs Windows 7 but not enough money. So I got this one instead. It does what it is supposed to. I like Livescribe smartpen for the price that I paid.
LiveScribe has a ptoprierary file formats and is very constraining on how you manage you files. I gave mine away

GregI uaenrstdnd your issues and in the interests of transparency I’ll publish your post. Your comments on this post and the post re the CEO visit in some cases are incorrect. You’ve raised another issue here that is solvable. As I’ve noted previously, Livescribe is aware of issues like date formats and is working to fix this. I’ve not seen this date reset issue nor has anyone else reported it. Version 2 of the Desktop runs as expected with plans in place to address known issues. Livescribe has adopted a common, and perfectly reasonable approach to their development and customer service.
